The Importance of sleep

The Importance of sleep

To sleep or not to sleep

Coming into the season of hibernation for humans I thought it may be important to talk about sleep. Sleep is one of the most important things you can do for your body, brain and nervous system. Growth hormone is one of our most important hormones to help this process during our sleep. It is produced in larger amounts during a certain stage of our sleep cycle. Unfortunately it’s only when we are in a delta wave frequency while sleeping

What does this mean?

It means that we have 4 stages of sleep that we go through each night. Not everyone goes through each stage which can interrupt the amount of growth hormone produced let alone the other beneficial hormones that are being released during the night.

What does growth hormone do?

Well it was very popular among the infamous athletes of the past for a doping agent. Athletes loved it for it’s body repair properties and the increase in performance. Research shows that throughout life it naturally regulates fat, muscle, tissue and bone plus helps regulate insulin and blood sugar levels…when it’s being produced.

Why do I like this function?

BECAUSE IT REPAIRS THE BODY AND BRAIN (mainly when we sleep)
Most people who’ve been to see me in the clinic understand that the work I do is not only to alleviate pain, it’s to decrease any interferences that stop the body from doing its natural process of healing and repairing itself.

It is on the front page of my history taking form, sleep scale 1-10. And sometimes the most important thing I can help with. So the body starts to repair and build new tissues during your sleep to alleviate the effects of life’s stresses and injuries that our body takes on everyday. So if you feel your experiencing restless sleep, please let me know next time your in.
